G'Day and welcome to Dogwalking Dave! My journey with dogs began when I was just a kid, walking neighbours' pups and volunteering at the pound. It's a passion that has grown over the years, leading me to create a service dedicated to giving your beloved dog the best care, exercise, and companionship right here in Sydney.
My journey with four-legged mates
From an early age, I was hooked. I vividly remember walking neighbours' dogs and volunteering to walk pound dogs when I was just 11 or 12, even while my mum fostered all sorts of 'pound hounds'. There was Elmer the Afghan Hound, who truly believed he was royalty, and our snaggle-toothed miniature poodle, Pepe, who watched on with delightful envy. These early experiences shaped my love for every unique personality.
Unexpected friendships and lifelong bonds
The dog run in our garden became a sanctuary, especially when Max and Jasper, two beautiful four-year-old English setters, joined our family after arriving at the pound. They were victims of bereavement, and mum just had to have them! They brought new energy, even if Pepe still held the title of 'boss'! And then, for five years, we had Alan the tortoise – much to the dogs' complete bafflement! Every animal, big or small, has a place in my heart.
A special touch for your best mate
My approach is simple: I get to know your dog, and they get to know me. It's all about earning trust, which I’ve been doing my whole life. Once that bond is established, we'll embark on adventures tailored just for them. No group walks here – just dedicated, genuine dog care, friendship, and exercise. We can explore Sydney's stunning shorelines, peaceful reserves, sandy beaches, or head to a local field for some frisbee fun. Let's chat and see what suits your best mate!
